Full day tour to Hluhluwe game reserve: R1925/$195 per person

06H00 Depart Durban - travel direct to Hluhluwe Game Reserve - full day game drives - picnic lunch included - the reserve is one of the oldest in Africa , founded in 1895 - it is home of the "BIG 5" & particularily well known worldwide for efforts in saving the White Rhino population - return to Durban by 19h00 .

1. Durban city tour: R415/$42 per person

Our first stop is a visit to the Kwa-Muhle museum to learn about the Indian & Zulu influence on Durban in the early days of apartheid - then proceed to the Moses Mabhida stadium specially built for the 2010 Soccer World Cup , a SkyCar ride is optional - cost R60-00 per person , operates weather permitting - the ride takes you to the top of the stadium for amazing views of the city and coastline - we then travel along the Golden Mile to the harbour entrance for a photo opportunity of the beachfront hotels and beaches - continue via the Esplanade and International yacht harbour to the Victoria Street Indian market to see the spices and bargains galore at the vending stalls - a visit to the botanical gardens with an excellent orchid house follows , also a drive through the residential suburbs and city centre - return to hotel by 17h00.

    

2. Valley of 1000 hills tour: R600/$60 per person

Travel west of the city through the lush garden suburbs of Westville and Kloof to the Valley of 1000 hills - a region of rolling green hills as far as the eye can see , designated to the local Zulu tribe by Queen Victoria - visit a crocodile breeding project & an indigenous snake institution  - followed by an introduction to age old Zulu traditions with a visit to a Zulu Kraal ( homestead ) and enjoy an energetic display of Zulu dancing - souvenier shop and restaurant facilities available on site - return to Durban via scenic route - arrive hotel 17h30.

    

3. Ushaka marine world tour: R600/$60 per person

Highlights of this tour include visits to to Sea World and Dolphin World - comprising a saltwater aquarium with indoor and outdoor exhibits - this is the fifth largest aquarium in the world with underground viewing galleries extending 500 metres through a series of four superbly designed old ship wrecks - enjoy a dolphin show at the largest dolphinarium in Africa , also featuring seals and penguins . Each and every display was designed to represent not only the natural habitat of the Indian ocean sea creatures , but to depict a story that ties in with the huge Phantom ship theme - shopping and restaurant facilities available - return to hotel 17h00.

       

4. Cultural experience - Township tour: R650/$65 per person

A short distance inland from the city we arrive at the local settlements of Kwa Mashu and Inanda - products of the apartheid era intended to house workers out of the city limits - the area is steeped in history and culture - we visit one of the sections in Kwa Mashu to take a short walk and interact with the locals - time permitting we will visit the Ohlange Institute where president Nelson Mandela cast his vote in South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994 ; the Phoenix Settlement where Mahatma Gandhi operated his printing press and developed the philosophy of passive resistence ; and the Inanda Seminary - oldest private school for African girls established in 1869 by American missionaries - return to hotel 17h00 .

Half day tour to Tala private game reserve: R995/$100 per person

08H30 Depart Durban - enjoy a scenic drive towards Pietermaritzburg , Tala is situated 60 kilometers from the city - the property is situated on a mix of acacia thornveld , open grassland and sensitive wetlands providing exceptional game viewing and birding photographic opportunities - it is a wildlife sanctuary spanning 3000 hectares & features well over 380 bird species - big game includes kudu , hippo , eland & giraffe - return to hotel by 13h00.
