Specialized Quality Assurance Laboratory–Clayville

 

 

Reporting to the Head of SQAL, the successful incumbent will lead a team of analysts that provide analytical services of excellent quality for SQAL customers in the ZAR Region.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·         Lead a team of analysts, plan and supervise their activities in the Chemistry section of the SQAL.

·         Manage workforce according to business needs and 5 day Turn-Around-Time (TAT)

·         Develop and train analysts by multi-skilling in analytics,

·         Monitor the method performance and compile regular reports to the Head of the laboratory

·         Assess the status of GLP in factory labs through GLP audits

·         Drive efficiency improvement projects within the section by optimizing equipment usage and maintenance

·         Effective implementation and maintenance of SQAL’s Quality System (ISO 17025 aligned), GLP, ICP, SOP, Laboratory safety.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Matric with BSc or BTech in Chemistry/ Analytical chemistry
  • 3 years Managerial experience
  • Good communication/ interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and flexi hours
  • Recognised expert in field of an Analytical Speciality e.g. Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectroscopy (LC-MSMS)
  • Experience with food matrix related analytics of advantage
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 17025 would be an advantage
  • This job requires regular travel around the country, some travel unplanned.
