Please note that an evaluation of a Critical Skills Visa Application will only be done for members that are registered as Professional Chemists (PrChemSA) with the South African Chemical Institute.
Before applying for an evaluation of a Critical Skills Visa Application you need the following documentation:
CV - Make sure you include a job description and a work experience report.
Two letters of reference from your current or past employers highlighting your skills and the strategic importance of your work to reside within South Africa. An example, for instance, is a letter from a South African subsidiary of an international company to motivate why one of the company's overseas employees should be appointed here in South Africa. Another example is a University academic from overseas that has spent sabbatical leave in South Africa and would like to stay on for a further period of time. In such case a letter from the particular Department of the University is needed. A very general criterion here is that the applicant should have the critical qualifications, skills and work experience that will promote SET locally and help South Africa to achieve the goals of its National Development Plan.
Certified copies of your Degree Certificates and Academic Transcripts.
Certified copies of SAQA evaluation of your foreign/international qualifications.
Two referee reports which specifically evaluate the quality of the applicant's work. Such reports may come from a line manager or section head in the company where the applicant is working or worked before. We would like to know whether the applicant is an assistant that needs to work under supervision, or whether the applicant is a professional who works totally independently and in a position of responsibility, i.e. having the authority to sign-off data, for example.
